Our Ephrata and Lititz law offices provide you with convenient access to high-quality legal services brought to you by our very experience attorneys. Since our firm is a full service law firm, we are able to serve all of our clients’ needs right here in Ephrata and Lititz. With hours between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and evening hours until 8:00 p.m. on Monday and Thursday, we are able to schedule appointments that are convenient for you.

Kurt Gardner

A life-long resident of Lancaster County, Mr. Gardner graduated cum laude from The Dickinson School of Law in 1987, Franklin and Marshall College in 1984 and Warwick High School in 1980. He has since concentrated in the areas of Family Law, Personal Injury, Civil and Criminal trial Litigation, and Estate Planning/Administration.

Mr. Gardner has been actively involved in the community, including the Brickerville Volunteer Fire Company, the Lions Club, Teens Responding to Adult Care and Kindness, and the Ephrata High School Mock Trial Team. He has chaired numerous parent organizations at Warwick High School, and has been a church leader for many years. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Northern Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce and the Warwick Education Foundation.

Mr. Gardner has received awards for excellence in providing legal service to the underprivileged, and he frequently lectures on the practice of law to local groups and organizations. He is a certified member of the prestigious Million Dollar Advocates’ Forum for his handling of multi-million dollar wrongful death and personal injury cases. Mr. Gardner has been recognized by Martindale-Hubbell with the highest rating a lawyer can receive for legal ability and ethical standards.

Mr. Gardner resides in Brickerville with his wife, Heidi. They have two children, Lyndsay and Adam.


John Stevens

Mr. Stevens graduated from The Dickinson School of law in 1996 and Franklin and Marshall College in 1993. While in Law School, Mr. Stevens received The American Bankruptcy Law Journal Award and was actively involved in Dickinson’s Family Law Clinic. His primary areas of practice include Family Law, Business Law, Personal Injury, Estate Administration and Planning and various traffic and criminal defense matters.

Mr. Stevens served as a Director on the Ephrata Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and on the Chamber’s Special Events committee. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Cocalico Education Foundation wherein he serves on various committees including the Endowment Fund committee. Mr. Stevens has also joined the Mainspring of Ephrata Board of Directors. Along with Mr. Gardner, Mr. Stevens served as the coach to the Ephrata High School Mock Trial Team. Additionally, Mr. Stevens has been involved with the Junior Achievement Program and lectures and writes on the practice of law to local groups and organizations.

Mr. Stevens resides with his wife, Connie and their two sons, Andrew and Matthew.


Torri Esch

Ms. Stevens graduated from The Dickinson School of Law in 1996 and graduated magna cum laude from Georgian Court College in 1993. While in Law School, Ms. Stevens was actively involved in Dickinson’s Family Law Clinic and received the CALI Excellence For The Future Award, Juvenile Law. Her primary area of practice is Estate Administration and Planning. She has been admitted to both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey State Bars.

Ms. Stevens resides with her husband, John, and their two sons, Andrew and Matthew.


Kyla A Roseboro

Kyla was born and raised in Lancaster County and graduated from Cocalico High School. She received her Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies in 2013. Kyla joined our firm in 2013 and assists in a wide variety of legal areas including personal injury, family law and business law. She is also one of our Notary Publics and is able to answer client questions concerning case status and billing. Kyla lives in Denver with her husband, Sam, and daughters, Kayana and Kinley.



Julie is a graduate of Grove City College. She moved to the Lancaster area in October 2015 and joined our firm in January 2016. Julie is our paralegal in our Lititz office handling Family Law, Business and Real Estate matters. Julie is also a Notary Public and is able to answer client questions regarding case status and billing. She lives in Lititz with her husband, Ron. They have three children: Sam, Joseph and Emily.


Jill M. McGowan

Jill is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. She moved to Lancaster County in 2001 and joined the Gardner and Stevens team in 2017 as a Legal Secretary. She primarily assists Ms. Stevens with Estates and Estate Planning. She is an active member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Ephrata and supports many activities around the Cocalico School District. Jill lives in Reamstown with her husband, Dennis, and their two sons, Joey and Luke.


Jill M. McGowan

Danette graduated from Cocalico High School. She is a lifelong resident of Lancaster County. Danette has worked in the Administrative field for the past 20 years. She joined Gardner & Stevens, PC in 2020 as a Receptionist/Legal Secretary and is also one of our Notary Publics. Danette lives in Ephrata with her husband, Edward. They have a daughter, Kimberly. Danette is actively involved with her church and serves in several different capacities. She also volunteers in her spare time.


Jill M. McGowan

Cheri graduated from Mt. Penn High School and attended Kutztown University for Art, Harrisburg Area Community College and Berwin Institute for Cardiac Ultrasound, Nursing Assistant and Operating Room Technician. She moved to Lancaster County in 1982 where she raised her three children Staci, Rachel and Keith in the Cocalico School District. She was involved and volunteered in their school activities and held many positions at her local church in Schoeneck during the years her children were growing. Cheri joined our firm in 2019 as a receptionist/legal secretary and is one of our Notary Publics. Cheri lives in Ephrata and enjoys spending time camping with her 6 grandchildren.
